What is a Secondary air pump?

A secondary air pump is a device that adds oxygenated air to the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. It is often used in engines operating with an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system to increase the concentration of oxygen in the combustion chamber and improve the efficiency of the EGR system.
